During my winter break of my junior year in college I studied abroad in France with some friends and peers of Mount Mary University. On one of the day that I was there as a group we went to Calais and to the Lace Museum. There I learned the amazing technique of how the lace is made. I went into an exhibit, Haute Dentelle (Haute Couture and Lace). This exhibit was filled with wonderful designs from Christian Dior to Valentino to Chanel and Louis Vuitton among many more.
I took inspiration from Zuhair Murad. The technique used to create volume on the lace detail drew me into the garment so much. Instantly looking at the garments I knew I wanted to incorporate that technique. I used this technique in my first look. I also used lace fabric throughout all of my designs to carry out the look with my other two designs.
